I am a licensed mental-health psychotherapist that draws upon a multi modal approach with a specialization in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and other evidence-based treatments.
I was trained at CPPD Counseling School, one of the UK’s leading humanistic integrative counseling training institutions. I subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health at New York University, and a Fellowship at the renowned Albert Ellis Institute in Manhattan.
What I am doing and what I’ve done
In addition to my private practice, I am currently practicing at the Institute for Human Identity, New York’s principal LGBTQ affirmative psychotherapy and training center. I also practice and train at the Albert Ellis Institute, which concentrates on Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy. Former positions include several years practicing as a psychotherapist at New York Behavioral Health.
Workshops and Associations
I have given multiple presentations and workshops on rational emotive behavior therapy, and have been invited to give guest lectures at various New York universities and professional associations including the Eastern Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. I am a member of the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists and of the New York Mental Health Counselors Association.
Areas of specialty
My areas of specialty include shame, depression, assessment and treatment of stress and anxiety, anger management, addiction, obsessive compulsive disorders, LGBTQ issues, and self-acceptance. My approach is warm, respectful, practical and collaborative and I endeavor to bring dedication, empathy and humor to the service that I provide.
